Troncones

Have you ever heard of Troncones in Mexico? It’s a place every seasoned surfer perhaps knows the name of. One of the remarkable features of Troncones is the availability of lots of surf areas around. Remarkably, the entire coastal belt in Troncones boasts of providing an enthralling experience for surfers.

The best way forward would be to join the Troncones Point surfing club and take advantage of the numerous facilities the club offers you.

Different surfing points in Troncones

One of the most striking aspects of Troncones surfing region is the availability of various surfing points.

  • The first in the list is Troncones Point. There are many surfing points along the coast; in fact most of the points are in walking distance, which makes it a little easier for the surfers. Imagine coming off a long trip straight from the airport, and getting down to the seas, and finding all the points. Noting could be more adventurous than that.
  • La Boca is again, a point very close to the Troncones Point. You need to get to the south of the point, and you would find great lefts and right highs, right near the mouth of the river. However, you should remember that most the highs can be witnessed only during the month of November and onwards till the end of March.
  • La Saladita is a surfing point for all seasons. The only hitch would be to get to the location. You have to travel some distance before you reach La Saladita. You are advised to contact the Troncones club, and they would help you to reach your favourite surfing destination. You would, however, be charged for the service. You would have to travel around 30 minutes from the Troncones club to reach your spot.
  • Finally, the Ranch is the farthest surfing point in the Troncones. You may choose to go to the Ranch either by boat, or by car, but a boat ride would be very adventurous, and it’s a trip you are not likely to forget easily.

Additional information about Troncones

Avoid carrying your own surf board, and instead choose to rent one at the club. The club charges you $20 per day to rent a surfboard, and if you are having a long holiday, opt for weekly rental, it falls cheaper - $125 a week.

Troncones undertake repairs for your surfboard cracks. If you need a guide, the club organises a surf guide tour. A rookie surfer is advised to hire a guided tour as a safety measure.
